It was a chilly morning well spent at the lovely Pike’s Place Market. =)
We met at the famous pig under the big sign and spent about an hour walking around the market - laughing a ton - Brianne is so funny, she knows exactly what to do to make Paul smile!
I cannot wait until their big day (July…so soon)!
Well, after living in Washington for nearly 8 years and hearing about all of the fabulous tulip fields up in Skagit Valley - each year I kept thinking about going to check it out… wanting to go…. planning to go - saying, “okay, next year for sure!” Well this year we finally made it!! YAY!!
Photographing flowers (for me anyways) can be a challenge - flowers are SO beautiful on their own, plus everyone and their mom has taken a good photograph of a flower. So I tried to look at the flowers from a different perspective, not so much the eye level view, but more of a bugs eye (or barbie crawling in the mud view) - it was a lot of fun and I hope you enjoy some of these shots!
Yvonne & Mark have become great friends of mine ~ they are so fun and incredibly sweet! Over the past year we have spent some time together talking about wedding plans, doing engagement portrait sessions, networking (Y is an amazing acupuncturist) … and the best part - spending an entire week in Playa Del Carmen (an hour away from Cancun). The whole week in Playa was perfect - beautiful weather, great company and of course some amazing sights!
There were too many fun photos to choose from, so I decided to create a little slideshow (there is music - so turn it down if you are at work!)

Cara & Mike were married on February 17th - they chose three of the prettiest places in all of Seattle to spend their wedding day! Getting ready, along with a few formal photos we started at the Sorrento, the ceremony only minutes away was held at the Chapel of St. Ignatius where we had perfect little puffy white clouds in the bright blue February sky. (Seattle is amazing!) For the reception we were off to the Broadmoor Country Club where there was a live band (from Portland) playing and the entire place was filled with gorgeous arrangements by Jean Louise from Juniper Flowers. The reception was my favorite part - Cara & Mike, along with their entire family really know how to have a good time, the dance floor was packed on the first song!! Here are a few of my favorite photos from their big day.
Jazmine & Cameron met in church and were friends long before they started dating - on March 4th of this year they got married at the Opera House in Marysville (a day their families have been anxiously awaiting!). It was such a beautiful event and amazingly coordinated by Nadine (I wish every wedding had a Nadine!!). The entire day was relaxed and so fun, the families were involved in every part of the day - from getting ready to performing and singing in the ceremony and on to DJing and dancing at the reception. I don’t think Jazmine could’ve dreamed up a more perfect wedding if she tried - check it out!
Hello! As you all may (or may not) know - the focus of my business is wedding and portrait photography. Occasionally a commercial job will pop up here and there, but not incredibly often.
Well, on the way home from Yvonne & Mark’s wedding (in Playa Del Carmen) I sat next to Derek Armstrong - he noticed one of the wedding’s I was editing and we started talking shop. It turns out he is the Art Director for Group Health and has a strong background in photography along with a degree in graphic design. When Cascade & Group Health had this fun job come up, he thought of me and it has worked out fabulously! There are two more parts we are shooting next Tuesday - so be on the lookout around Seattle and hopefully you will see one of these billboards or busboards!!
