Scott & Courtney - Married!! November 30, 2007

Courtney & Scott are the sweetest couple and had the sweetest wedding planned up on Orcas Island. A couple of weeks before the wedding we went over to Alki for a little engagement session- right away you can tell how in love they are! We had so much fun dancing and twirling around the beach on the perfectly sunny day! (my favorites are of course the shadow photos!!

The Wedding Day!!

It was a rainy October afternoon – but nothing could dampen this party!! There were about 30 or so guests and the ceremony was at the cutest Victorian Valley Chapel not far from where the ferry drops you off. The reception was out at the Moran State Park on the other side of the island under a picnic shelter it was catered by none other than our favorite caterer Kate Thomson of Seasonal Palate. This wedding was like no other wedding I’ve ever been to – we went for a little walk to do some evening light portraits, did a little fishing, and when the sun set on the water and Scott’s father brought out his gift to them. A hand made row-boat!! It was a picture perfect ending to their perfect wedding day.

Here are a few of my favorite shots – enjoy!!

Bridge Motel - GONE!! November 27, 2007

Some thought of it as an eye sore, others a landmark… I just thought it was a great way to let people know they were on the right road to my house! I’ve heard rumors of murders in the motel, ideas of remodeling - all sorts of things, but never saw anything different until a couple of weeks ago. When on my way home late one night there were hundreds of people filling the building - crazy dressed people in the streets (very out of the ordinary for this neighborhood) and loud loud music filling the air. Later I found out the students at the Art Institute of Seattle (my alma mater) put on an art show each room a different theme & many different artists then threw a huge party. The place was decorated inside & out!

Tonia, Kaia & I went for a walk one sunny afternoon & decided to take some photos of the crazily decorated building - good timing too. The very next week (or maybe it was two or three… time flies and I’m bad at timely blogging) it was GONE! Yup - a demolition crew was there breaking the boards apart. Who knows what will be there next. Hopefully some cool space for artists - or another fun little hotel (less scary would be nice.)

Anyways - I’ll let the photos tell the story instead of me…. enjoy!

Sarah, Kenny & the cutest smiley little boy ever - Joey called me up a couple of weeks ago and we headed out for a family portrait session. We went down to the Arboretum and had a great time getting many different poses & clothing changes in the search of the perfect family photo for the holiday card.
It wasn’t until ½ way through our session that I found out that Sarah is in fact Sarah Doucette the fabulous photographer!! Here’s a link to her site http://www.sarahdoucette.com.

It has been so fun getting to know Sarah & her family & I look forward to spending more time with them!!

Enoy!!

Anytime Fitness! November 9, 2007

Last year when I moved to Fremont, I had to find a new gym (Magnolia is apparently WAY to far to travel to work out). After going to check out many different places that were okay - I found somewhere I couldn’t live without! Anytime Fitness (on Fremont Ave.)

Noel Nishi is the owner and he is fabulous!! Not only can I work out anytime with my little key card (hence the name) but the people are friendly and the owner Noel is very involved!! He greets everyone by name (how he remembers everyone, I’ll never know) and is all about promoting his customers businesses.
There is a big screen TV right at the entrance of the gym that plays a constant slideshow with advertisements of people who work out there and own businesses. (I just found out that Paul Hinderlie installed all of it!!) He also asked me a couple of weeks ago if I would be interested in hanging some of my work in the entrance of the gym (which of course I was!)

If you are looking for a place to work out in Fremont (and view art)– this really is the greatest place!

Here are some photos of the gym and of the work displayed there.

(it was hard to get one angle with good lighting on all the frames…. so you’ll just have to go in and check them out!)

This is a bumper sticker I saw on a car parked outside the gym - SO cool (and true too!)

Jannine & I had been talking about taking some family photos for this years holiday card - we weren’t exactly sure what we were going to do and she mentioned they were going to the Pumpkin Patch. What a great idea!! So one fabulously sunny Sunday morning we pulled on our rubber boots and headed over to Jubilee Farms in Snohomish County all ready to find a pumpkin!

Jannine, Rich, Milo, Roxie & I had a fabulous time looking at the pigs & turkeys, riding on the covered wagons and of course picking the best pumpkin in the patch!

Here are a few of the highlights of the day. =)

Enjoy!

Miriam & Chris ~ Married!! November 1, 2007

Filed under: Photography, Weddings — Barbie Hull @ 10:05 pm

Chris & Miriam were married on a beautiful SUNNY (yet chilly) September afternoon down at Golden Gardens - everything about the day was unique and perfect!

I met the gals at the Locks to do some pre- ceremony photos (which turned out so fun) and then we headed over to the Bath-house where the bride greeted family and guests as they arrived while the groom finished getting ready in the back. The first look was just before they walked down the aisle together- so sweet!!

They had the youngest guest I have ever met at a wedding - Miriam’s sister (and maid of honor) had her little boy just nine days before the wedding…..AMAZING!!

A perfect end to a perfect day we were blessed with a gorgeous sunset and found a moment to run out and do a couple of photos by the water.

Here are a couple of my favorite shots from the day - it was hard to choose, I loved them all!!
