I was lucky enough to spend the new year in Anchorage with my silly parents (Hi guys!!) they were nice enough to drive me all over town stopping in crazy places so I could jump out and take photos. One day – my Mom was in charge of the Holga and we were outside in -22 degree temps!! No way right?!
We are still waiting for the Holga images to be developed (next week sometime), but for now here are a few of my favorites from the holiday in AK.

The moon was so great while I was there and if you look closely to the left of the image – you can see Mars!!

I love the fog! This is normally a great lookout point to see the city of Anchorage, but this night you can barely see the mountains!

This is a fun sculpture outside of the Library I could not believe the amazing icicles that formed there!!

The moose – they’re everywhere!!

This year Alaska is celebrating its 50th year as a state – and so they had an amazing ice sculpture in the city park-which they turned into an ice skating rink!

Oh gee… even the sculptures can see Russia from their back yard!!

This was the sunset right behind the airport about 4pm on January 1st – BEAUTIFUL!!!!
I didn’t even know we were going to have one!! We were channel surfing last night and saw the news… which reminded Ryan – oh yeah! 7pm there will be a lunar eclipse… what time is it now?!? 6:57?? Lets get outside! So dangling off of our 3rd story balcony we could just barely see the super cool reddish moon! It was so neat! After coming inside found three messages on the phone “Look outside, quick – take a picture of the moon!” So here it is – (gotta love my new camera – shooting 6400 iso…. just to see how it looks…. fabulous!!)
