Whitney Keyes - Local Celebrity! July 16, 2008

I first saw Whitney on her online TV show (The Whitney & Wyatt Show) a few months ago and thought she was amazing! She was talking about marketing and PR - (two of my favorite things) and can even remember telling a friend - we should meet her!! Then like magic, she and her fabulous film crew were covering an event that I too was photographing. (see, magic!) We chatted for a bit, exchanged cards and met the following week for coffee. She is SO fun, full of energy and incredibly passionate about her work!

Since then we’ve become great friends and have had the wonderful opportunity to photograph her on two of her projects. (this is how behind I am at blogging) but would love to share some of the photos with you.

These first photos are from the BizJam event (put on of course by the fabulous people of Biznik) - Whitney spoke about high impact, low cost marketing - how to get the attention of the press and of course your potential clients! We were all taking notes - great advice and a great reason to hire Whitney to help you come up with a plan to increase your business! (HERE is a link to her site. )

A couple of weeks ago (or was it months… time goes by so fast - I can’t remember!) Folk life was here at the Seattle Center. Whitney and her wonderful cameraman Brett came down to interview Ravin Wolf a fabulous Ellensburg based band who was here performing.

Whitney is always doing fun interviews and introducing artists/performers/business people to the community.

Christopher & Jimmy! July 11, 2008

A few Friday’s ago I met Christopher & Jimmy over in Volunteer Park for a portrait session and we had SO much fun!! I can’t believe how fast the hour flew by! We were running, jumping and of course dancing all over the park. My favorite way to spend a Friday morning! Christopher and I know each other from BNI and of course the wedding world - he is also known as Christopher Flowers, an amazing floral artist! (Check out his website by clicking HERE.

Brian & Lindsey ~ July 4, 2008

Brian & Lindsey are two fabulous friends who recently moved to the mile high city in Colorado. (WE MISS YOU!!) They’ve been talking about it for so long and I think maybe I was in denial - if I don’t acknowledge the fact that they were leaving… then maybe they wouldn’t.   But, (sadly) on Monday they packed their bags, cars and PODS and were off.  (did i mention we miss you?!)  Luckily the week before the send off - we had enough time to visit a few key “Seattle” locations for some photos - here they are…. enjoy!

Baby Michael! July 3, 2008

Hey there!  I haven’t been able to blog lately because work has been insane (good insane!) so many portraits/weddings/parties so little time!  So, the next couple of weeks there are going to be a TON of posts - so put your picture viewing hats on and enjoy!

This first blog post is a favorite baby of mine - my super cute little nephew Michael David Stokes, you may remember his newborn photos (HERE) and now it is time for his three month photos - too fun!

Last night - we went to Michael and his two beautiful big sisters (Tonia & Kaia) first baseball game.  =)  The Mariners beat the Blue Jays 4-2,  it was a great game…. and we of course got on the big screen!  FUN!

Sex and the City July 3, 2008

I don’t normally go to clubs - but last week I went to a Sex and the City Party thrown by Joanna & Isaac of Bamboo Beats and it was SO fun!! If you are looking for something fun to do on Thursday nights in Seattle head down to Club Ibiza (2nd & James) to listen to Bamboo Beats spin great dance music, sign up to win fabulous door prizes and of course enjoy the tasty drinks. Seattle Greendrinks! June 12, 2008

Last night (Tuesday June 10th) was Seattle Greendrinks 5th Anniversary and they had a HUGE party! With over 1,000 people in attendance (or so I’ve heard) they took up three of Sodo’s finest event venues; Herban Feast, The Pear Garden & Alchemy Goods. It was too much fun for sure!! Sierra Nevada released a new brew The Monorail Ale, there were so many wine sponsors (including the Vine Vixens), the alcohol was all free as long as you brought your own cup & of course any money donated goes straight to charity. I could probably go on for days with all of the fun details of the night, but I’ll just share a few more. There were two DJs spinning - a slideshow playing (of the photos we were taking) and in the back there was a photo setup where people would come and write down their commitment the “one thing” they are going to do to make the world a better place. People were SO creative!!

The Tate Family! June 10, 2008

Lori, Byron & Camber were very brave this week as we made the decision to take our photos in the rain!! We played mainly in their backyard but snapped a couple of fun shots at the lookout point just a few blocks from their home. It was SO fun singing and dancing along with them (that REALLY made Camber laugh). It is always so fun photographing a family who just loves being together!

Michele & Paul ~ Married!! June 5, 2008

On May 24th Michele & Paul got married at the gorgeous St. James Cathedral up on Capitol Hill - it was the most perfect May day filled with sunshine and not too hot right around 70 degrees! The reception was held at Hotel 1000 in downtown Seattle and there was just enough time for us to stop by the market for a few photos. The day couldn’t have gone more smoothly thanks to the beautiful people, gorgeous day and of course the fabulous planning by Wendi with Ethereal Events.

Wallingford Art Walk! June 4, 2008

Today is the day ~ (June 4th) that the neighborhood of Wallingford hosts the first Wednesday ArtWalk! So head on over to the Wallingford area (45th & Wallingford is a good place to start) there will be farmers markets, and all cafe’s, shops, and bars will be open with local artists featured in each location. I also hear that Trophy Cupcake has a Wednesday only option of a blueberry cupcake with fresh blueberries from the farmers market!! YUM!!!

Yours truly will be featured at Fuel Coffee 1705 N. 45th St ~ (right by the BITCH store, everyone seems to know that one). A few of my portrait images will be hanging there this month.

So, if you don’t get a chance to stop by tonight (6-9pm) and eat some of the goodies I’m bringing and you still want to see the work - you can either stop by at some point in the month of June, or check back at this blog site and photos will be posted!

Ella is Six Months Old!! June 2, 2008

About a week or so ago I had the pleasure of spending a Sunday morning with Jenn, Mike & their beautiful daughter Ella who just turned six-months old!! I am really loving documenting the first year of a child’s life - they grow and change SO much in these early months.

We were able to play in and around their new home and got some really fun shots - Ella is so cute, I could’ve spent all day trying to get more smiles from her! Here are a few of my favorites from the day:
