I first saw Whitney on her online TV show (The Whitney & Wyatt Show) a few months ago and thought she was amazing! She was talking about marketing and PR - (two of my favorite things) and can even remember telling a friend - we should meet her!! Then like magic, she and her fabulous film crew were covering an event that I too was photographing. (see, magic!) We chatted for a bit, exchanged cards and met the following week for coffee. She is SO fun, full of energy and incredibly passionate about her work!

Since then we’ve become great friends and have had the wonderful opportunity to photograph her on two of her projects. (this is how behind I am at blogging) but would love to share some of the photos with you.

These first photos are from the BizJam event (put on of course by the fabulous people of Biznik) - Whitney spoke about high impact, low cost marketing - how to get the attention of the press and of course your potential clients! We were all taking notes - great advice and a great reason to hire Whitney to help you come up with a plan to increase your business! (HERE is a link to her site. )

A couple of weeks ago (or was it months… time goes by so fast - I can’t remember!) Folk life was here at the Seattle Center. Whitney and her wonderful cameraman Brett came down to interview Ravin Wolf a fabulous Ellensburg based band who was here performing.

Whitney is always doing fun interviews and introducing artists/performers/business people to the community.

See, now you can see how fabulous Whitney is! If you want to grow your business, or start a new business but aren’t sure where to start - you should hire Whitney Keyes, she is a fabulous consultant!!

If you are looking for something fun to do on Thursday nights in Seattle head down to Club Ibiza (2nd & James) to listen to Bamboo Beats spin great dance music, sign up to win fabulous door prizes and of course enjoy the tasty drinks. Here are a few shots from last week so you can see what the atmosphere is like. Let me know if you’ll be there and I’ll join you!

A few months ago, I met two wonderful gals (at Girl Power Hour of course) who have changed the gift giving world!! Juliana Wong & Heather Kleiner the owners of a fabulous company called Marrylicious, the company has focused mainly on wedding day gifts but the gift can be given to anyone (client or friend) and without a doubt they will appreciate it!!

The packaging is what first caught my eye - the boxes are gorgeous and can be used again and again… but wait until you see what is inside!! It is a huge hit and can be a life savor on a wedding day. =) Check out their website by clicking HERE.

Oh, and a couple of weeks ago, Heather & I got together to do a little photo-shoot of their packaging, here are a few of the shots. Enjoy!

Just when you think an already wonderful event couldn’t get any better…. it does! Samantha Lawton & Darnell Sue - the creators of Girl Power Hour have continued to amaze us ladies of Seattle. They first started GPH just a few short months ago, a networking hour where girls get together, they network - gossip - win prizes - try fabulous new drinks and of course learn about a new business or in this months case that it is Good to be Green!

Last night (April 17th) was the Girl Goes Green version of GPH - the party was at Sole Repair in Capitol Hill…. WOW!! What an amazing space. (I want it!!!! It would be THE perfect studio!) They not only had MANY featured green businesses such as: Bamboo Beats (seattle’s first green DJ), Interra, Olivine, A Fresh squeeze, Dry Soda and so the entire list HERE,

but they also (I’m SO impressed) had TWO film crews, TWO photographers, & so many models featured in their sustainable clothing fashion show!!

Um… How COOL! Okay -enough chit chat, here are a few of the shots from last nights extravaganza ~ Enjoy!

There were tips on how to live a greener life displayed throughout the evening.

The GORGEOUS flowers were donated by Melissa Feveyear of Terra Bella Flowers

Our friends from Bamboo Beats - Seattle’s first green DJ

Samantha Lawton & Darnell Sue - creators of GPH

The first 50 lucky gals get one of these little pink tokens to exchange for a swag bag at the end of the evening. This month it was filled with all sorts of goodies!!

The doors opened at 6:30 on the dot and there was a line wrapped around the block… this is what it looked like 10 minutes into the party!!

GPH guests - Wendi from Ethereal Events, Barbara LMP, & Lisa Chambers from Chambers & Co.

A sustainable fashion show started about an hour into the party and featured sustainable clothing from Kimmi Design & Olivine Boutique.

There was an Art Institute Student photographing the event as well! YAY AIS!

Whitney Keyes was interviewing many of the ladies throughout the night.

Celebrate the Child Within April 15, 2008

Saturday was an exciting day - I donated a few hours to photograph a wonderful charity auction over on Mercer Island. The event was put together by the wonderful members of Soroptimist and their goal was to raise 40k to build a new children’s playground at the Catherine Booth House. The Catherine Booth house is a confidential emergency shelter for women & children escaping domestic violence.

It was a great experience witnessing first hand all of the people in the community who donated their sunny Saturday afternoon to help such a fabulous cause!

Here are a few photos from the afternoon -

The event was at the Mercer Island Community Center

The event was held at the Mercer Island Community Center

The girls from a local drill team donated their time to help set up and to sell raffle tickets!

There were great places throughout the afternoon where you could donate.

Holly & Kimber were in charge of this particular event.

If you are interested in donating time or money to this group, please contact the Club President, Holly.

Ryan Barr ~ Excel Coatings February 27, 2008

Ryan Barr is the owner and the man behind all of the success at Excel Coatings - {A Premier Northwest Painting Company}

He has two fabulous crews out on the Seattle scene painting both interior & exterior residential homes - with the occasional commercial job thrown in there; you can see their work at Gap, J Crew & Fred Meyer just to name a few.

Ryan not only has an impressive portfolio - but he is also there with each and every client to make sure they understand what products are being used in/on their homes and how to properly care for them so they will get the maximum lifespan out of their paint job. He often refers his clients to a designer who will assure they will love the results.

I’ve known him for a couple of years now, he is by far the hardest working person I’ve ever met! So I was of course excited when he asked me to photograph him for his online networking profile photo. Here are two of the MANY fabulous shots we got of him last week. =)

You can find Ryan a few different places - here are some links: Website, Biznik, Linkedin,

Whether you are staging your home for life or to put on the market Ede Bookstein with Artful Lodgings is your gal!! She is the greatest home stager to work with - her reputation is second to none.

With this crazy market we have right now it is hard to sell your home - the single best thing you can do is hire Ede Bookstein. She will re-introduce you to your home through the eyes of a potential buyer - from the moment they step out of the car (the curb appeal) to the ‘feeling’ they will get while walking from room to room. She will give you a check list of things to fix/change/think about and she can also bring in her crew to fully stage your home with your own belongings or bring in a few pieces from her warehouse of furniture.

Here are a couple of photos of Ede that we snapped last week at her home in Capitol Hill - and if you or someone you know is thinking of selling their home, give her a call first!

So - whether you are from out of town or a local here in Seattle - Pikes Place is a fun place to spend the day! Angela Shen (owner/mastermind of Savor Seattle) thought so too, so she created a super fabulous tour that lasts about two hours and takes you to a few of the hot spots in our favorite market.

On Sunday morning Brooke & I joined the group for some tasty treats and learned so many fun facts…. here are just a few of the many many photos taken that morning. ~ Enjoy!0010hull021708.jpg

Following our fearless leader!

A long long time ago (thats my language for I wasn’t listening again and you’ll have to go on the tour to find out) the market floor was made of wood - then to raise money to pay for a new floor you could buy a square for $35 and put anything you wanted on it… some people were creative and some people put their names. =)

0431hull021708.jpg

0445hull021708.jpg

0458hull021708.jpg

We finished up around noon and had the rest of this sunny sunny day to spend at the market. =) Brooke and I spent another two hours going back to all of the places we had just visited to buy full sized portions of all the food we had sampled because it was too good to pass up. (The Mac & Cheese from Beechers really is the best in the world!!)

Being on the Savor tour we were able to get 10-15% off all of our purchases - so cool!

Check out Angela’s website - HERE

She also gives a discount for wedding parties! So for all of you planning a Seattle wedding and have guests coming in from far far away - this would be a great adventure for them!

I’m sure you will enjoy it as much as we did. =)

I’ve worked with Christopher Smith of Christopher’s Flowers a couple of times over the past few years and could tell right away that he is a very talented florist. A few weeks ago when we teamed up to work on his portfolio, I was blown away! He is an amazing artist! He had created such unique pieces with combinations of flowers I never could’ve imagined - and loved it!!

Christopher has recently been added to the very illustrious group of wedding vendors on the June Bug site & has just published his brand new website check him out by clicking here - or going to http://www.christopherflowers.biz

Girl Power Hour created by Darnell Sue & Samantha Lawton (two super fabulous gals)… It is hard to explain - technically its a networking group but realistically it is fun filled evening of drinks, prizes and mingling. So fun! Check out their website - www.girlpowerhour.com - you can learn all about the charities, artists, and fabulous women they support. On January 17th the event was hosted by Val at Solo - a super cute little bar in Queen Anne that I will definately be visiting again soon. =)
