I have been so lucky to get to know and spend time with Shannon Lassen (Sublime Events) this year – she is an amazing gal with great style and an amazing talent for designing events! Not to mention her stunning family! Shannon & Dave just moved into their new home this fall with their PERFECT little girl Olive. I just ADORE her and when you meet her – you will too! She loves to give hugs. Who doesn’t love hugs from a cute little girl??
A few weeks ago we went for a walk in their neighborhood and it was a lot of fun – just ask Olive! =)

Last year I met Wendy with Divine Tan and she is SO fun!! I love her cool mobile spray tan company – and I’ve been hearing for the past year about her sweet little Lyla and just couldn’t wait to meet her! Well a couple of weeks ago we were able to meet up at Greenlake for a little playdate and it was true… Lyla is the cutest little girl, so full of life (and energy!) she kept us running for a full hour!! Too fun!

Jen & Isaac are such a cute couple!! They met through BNI (which I love!) they were married a year ago last May in Montana and finally moved back to Seattle about a year ago. All year we watched as Jen’s belly grew and grew – with an original date of September 23rd we thought we had plenty of time to do their pregnancy photos – but when I received the phone call in early September from Jen saying we’d better do it this morning I was SO excited!
So we set up a little studio in their living room and snapped some beautiful portraits – and created some beautiful art.

Then – 32 short hours later they met little William (Will) Thomas Gaspar born September 3rd, 2009 7lbs & 6oz – 19inches long (and incredibly handsome!) Then two weeks later I was able to visit them and took a couple of photos – he is SO sweet!!

The first time Karolina and I met for coffee we sat and chatted for nearly 2 hours!! It was so much fun – they didn’t have any other choice but to choose me as their wedding photographer!! Then a couple of weeks ago I met Mark at their engagement session and now I just can’t help but love them both!! We had WAY too much fun – we laughed till our belly’s hurt (well, I did) karate kicked the air, drank coffee and talked non-stop. The best part about it was how Mark & Karolina interacted. They are PERFECT for each other – so in love. Which is good – because they are getting married THIS WEEKEND!!
Here are a couple of my favorite images from the day – I hope you love them too!

Tomorrow is the big day!! These two lovebirds (who met in High School!) will meet at the Sorrento - with all of their closest family & friends to celebrate the start of their new life together.
Two weeks ago Corey, Nik & I met in downtown Issaquah (soooo cute!) to do their engagement portraits – it was a gorgeous sunny day – perfect for many scene & clothing changes as we danced down the train tracks jumped off of light poles and hung out in the dugouts (just like high school – i love it!).
Here are a few of my favorite images from the day:

My heart is heavy. I just got off the phone with Corey – She was calling from the ER. This morning (the day before the wedding) Nik was walking their dog downtown Issaquah when he was hit by a car in a crosswalk.
He has a bump on his head and a fractured leg – he is on his way into surgery and will hopefully be feeling up for some festivities tomorrow.
This must be a very hard time for the couple – if you could take a minute and send some love, wishes, prayers any positive thoughts their way I know it will be appreciated.
I will be sure to keep you updated – in the meantime please feel free to leave comments (or similar stories of other couples with happy endings) here for Corey & Nik and the messages will be forwarded onto them.
Thank you & much love to the sweet couple! See you tomorrow!!
Lyndsey & Josh are engaged to be married… NEXT WEEK! SO exciting! =) Their wedding is going to be fabulous too – it will be at one of my very favorite farms, Craven Farms – gorgeous. BUT – I’ll tell you more about that once it happens (in 8 days!!).
A few months back – while the cherry blossoms were in bloom we met at a sweet park in Tacoma (by the zoo I believe) the weather couldn’t have been more perfect, so we spent a little over an hour there before heading down the road to a place where they spent a lot of their time in the summers. It also happens to be the exact place where Josh popped the question – when Lyndsey was telling me the story, we all couldn’t help but tear up… I love sweet engagement stories!!
Spending this time with this sweetly-so-in-love couple reminded me how much I love my job. Its full of tears – the good kind. Thank you for that!!
Here are a few of my favorites from the day – we had so much fun it was hard choosing.

Brandy & Adrian are planning their wedding for the middle of August (next week!?) at her parents house and I cannot wait – it is going to be SO much fun! These two are such a great couple, so much fun – I can only imagine how fun their friends & family will be. =) A couple of weeks ago Brandy, Adrian and I met up at Kerry Park & Parsons Gardens on the Queen Anne Hill to take some engagement photos, we got to talking and found out that we all have something in common – SE Alaska! Brandy’s Mom spent many of her years in Sitka Alaska – Adrian spent a summer (or more?) on a boat with his parents through the inside passage and working up in Skagway (one of my FAVORITE towns!) and of course - that’s where I spent the better part of 18+ years. =)
It was a gorgeous day we picked for the photos (hoooray for sunny seattle summers!) and we spent a very laid back hour walking around the streets chatting and of course taking pictures! Here are a few of my favs:

J.K Burwell and I have become instant friends when we first met for coffee (introduced by Ryan – thank you!) – We met as a one to one through BNI to learn more about each others business and it couldn’t have been a more perfect fit! She has been telling me about her fabulous husband Brian for some time now – and on Friday I finally got to meet him!
Brian Jaeger is the Business Accelerator Manager for Washington Cash - and let me tell you, Washington Cash is a place that EVERYONE needs to know about! It is amazing! You should read more on their WEBSITE, but basically – it is a place for people who need a little help get started in their own successful business! There are workshops, classes, offices available & other small business owners to brainstorm with. It was founded in 1995 & since then as helped approximately 1,600 low-income people to graduate from their business training courses, more than 750 businesses have been started or expanded, and 327 loans have been made to low income individuals, totaling $690,250. Washington CASH is the only microcredit program using the peer lending model in the state of Washington. Washington CASH helps individuals move from being in poverty to being small business owners and contributors to community revitalization.
A few weeks ago I went and visited one of the groups, we had a great discussion on the importance of professional portraits vs personal photos on your business websites. There are of course pros and cons to each side – but as always a happy medium. You want to show your clients who you are – that you are professional, but also when your personality comes through it helps attract the kinds of clients you work best with. (amen!)
Anywhoo (I’m a rambler today!) here are a couple shots of each small business owner photographed on picture day! Enjoy!!

J.K Burwell of Family Heritage – (supplemental cancer insurance policy)

Brian Jaeger with Washington Cash – (the greatest thing that has happened to people starting up small businesses!)

Lisa Bivens of Bivens Quick Account – (accounting & bookkeeping!)

Shaula Massena of NWSRI.com & Washington Cash (northwest sustainable and responsible impact)

Sonia Vargas of Sonia Begonia Studios (teaching super cute kids to play piano!)
I hope you’ve enjoyed the post today and have had time to peruse the links to learn more about the Washington Cash program, and maybe even one or more of these fabulous businesses!! =)
Have a wonderful day!
Last summer I had the privilege of meeting Kelly & Bill at Kimberley & Justin’s wedding – then again when Kelly & Kimberley attended Get Hitched Give Hope as they worked on the wedding plans. (Thank you for supporting the cause!)… Well the wedding is almost here! This weekend Bill & Kelly will tie the knot – I can’t wait, it is going to be gorgeous!!
A couple of months back Kelly, Bill & I met at the Kubota Gardens down in South Seattle – what a beautiful place! It was too much fun – we spent about an hour walking around (okay… more like dancing around!) and here are a few of my favorite images:

I’m looking forward to a fabulous weekend with these two – look forward to a picture filled blog post in a few weeks!
Welcome back to BNI Business Spotlight Wednesday! Today’s featured member is one of my favorite people – she is THE sweetest, kindest most caring individuals you will ever meet! Jen & I met almost four years ago (I think it was four years) when she used to be known as Jen Holeman, since then she married into a fabulous family and is now expecting her first baby (boy!) this fall!!
Two weeks ago Jen and I met for breakfast at our favorite neighborhood restaurant (that’s right, we’re neighbors!) the Blue Star – we laughed and talked the morning away and were both a little sad to have to go back to work. We probably could have stayed and chatted all day!! Here is one of the images we snapped, so you can see who Jen is:

Who are you? Jennifer Gaspar
What do you do & Where? Gaspar’s Handyman Services – We are a Seattle & family based Handyman Company on Capital Hill. How can we reach you?: 1406 E Pine Seattle 98122 – 206-324-8199 – jeng@gaspars.com – www.gaspars.com –

4) What are your goals? (this year, 5 year, life?) This year I want to build relationships with 20 homeowners who move forward with small, medium and large home improvement projects. In life, I want to encourage smiles and have lots of amazing experiences with my family and friends.
5) What do you like most about work? Interacting with people and helping them through this process so it is smooth and stress free.
6) What is an average day like for you? Communicating to home owners where they are at in process, and making sure our team is meeting their needs & expectations.

8) What sets you apart from your competitors? High level of integrity – we are up-front about costs and are honest to our clients.
9) Describe your dream client – a busy couple who do not have the time to take care of their home but want it to be in wonderful condition.
