Thank you so much to Spur for hosting such an amazing party!! It was amazing!! Thank you also for those people who were able to come to Spur last night! It was great seeing everyone! The images are on display (best viewing is after dark) for the next month or so – so if you have time for a drink & some delicious food, I would HIGHLY recommend it!!
For those of you who are wonderful supporters from out of town – I completely understand and give you a pass, but wanted you to enjoy the show as well! Here you go:
I was lucky enough to spend the new year in Anchorage with my silly parents (Hi guys!!) they were nice enough to drive me all over town stopping in crazy places so I could jump out and take photos. One day – my Mom was in charge of the Holga and we were outside in -22 degree temps!! No way right?!
We are still waiting for the Holga images to be developed (next week sometime), but for now here are a few of my favorites from the holiday in AK.

The moon was so great while I was there and if you look closely to the left of the image – you can see Mars!!

I love the fog! This is normally a great lookout point to see the city of Anchorage, but this night you can barely see the mountains!

This is a fun sculpture outside of the Library I could not believe the amazing icicles that formed there!!

The moose – they’re everywhere!!

This year Alaska is celebrating its 50th year as a state – and so they had an amazing ice sculpture in the city park-which they turned into an ice skating rink!

Oh gee… even the sculptures can see Russia from their back yard!!

This was the sunset right behind the airport about 4pm on January 1st – BEAUTIFUL!!!!
My new FAVORITE Inn is in my new FAVORITE town! How could I have lived in Washington State for 9 years already and just discovered La Conner? I mean yeah sure – I’ve heard of it, but had never really been there and it is FABULOUS!! This little picturesque town is filled with art galleries, antique stores and coffee – three of my favorite things!!! The Queen of the Valley Inn is located just outside of the downtown area and couldn’t be more perfect! There are plenty of fabulous rooms for you & your friends to stay with lots of history and best of all is Shelly my favorite Inn Keeper! She is SO much fun & I can’t wait to go and stay overnight .
The Queen turns 100 years old this year, so if you are in need of a weekend gettaway, you should head up (or over or down) to La Conner to visit & help celebrate! HERE is a link to their website, and say hi to Shelly for me when you get there!
Here are a few of my favorite photos from the day:
I love having projects – although since finishing up with school I have found myself so busy with work that it is sometimes hard to make sure there are fun projects going to keep the creativity alive.
A few weeks ago while visiting my favorite chiropractic office I was chatting with the doctor herself (Mrs. Amy VanQuaethem) and she mentioned getting some art for her walls. She showed me a few examples of what she was looking for and I was SO excited!! They were all of the different textures in nature – all different colors, different seasons – it was great and I couldn’t wait to get started!
So right away I started taking some photos and this project just gets better and better each time I break out the camera.
Here is the first round of images – but I have a feeling that this will be an on going project for a while. So stay tuned. =)
I hope you enjoy them! Oh – and if you are in the neighborhood you should stop by Amy’s offices they have the best chiropractors & massage therapists in town!! 2914 East Madison Street – OR visit their website HERE
A special THANK YOU to Nicole Marie Beraldi – the BEST Architect at Callison for coming along on the longest photo excursion EVER. THANK YOU!!
Hello!! So, you may know that last week I went back home to Ketchikan Alaska for one of my best friend’s weddings. (SO FUN!) There are SO many photos to post, so I’m going to break them up. This first one is through the lens of my trusty Holga. If you aren’t familiar with this amazing type of camera there is a photo of it too! It is made of plastic, and there are no controls for focus, exposure or anything really – it actually has to be taped together and pieces of plastic strategically placed to keep the film from falling out. (I LOVE it!!) Everything that comes out of this little piece of magical plastic is perfect! Check out these first few shots!
This is a fun overlapped image (three actually) of my favorite local bar The Sourdough & my favorite neighbor/ bar owner Larry Kubley! (if you follow that link, you’ll see its a silly video from someone filming the bar!! It shows the walls are filled with fun photos of shipwrecks & fish kind of funny!!)
(Sometimes when the Holga owner forgets to forward the film you get overlapped images – hee hee)
I had actually never been to the Potlatch (another local bar) until this trip – and again – didn’t forward the film… Fun isn’t it?!?
This is part of a Totem Pole from Saxman – our Tlingit Village South of town.
(again if you look closely, you can see three different images)
I LOVE how damaged the Holga film looks – these are two more Totems, this time from Totem Bite (north of town)
Hope you’ve enjoyed this fun little Holga viewing…. stay tuned for color images from my favorite Nikon D3!
My trusty Holga! =) You should get one too!
James & Jordan tied the knot on Groundhogs Day this year (so fun!) over in Port Gamble. If you haven’t been to the Port Gamble area – you should plan a day trip over there. It is amazing!!
The entire day was so beautiful – the location, the couple, we couldn’t have asked for more!! Here are a few of the great shots of the day…. Enjoy!!

(the best first look photo ever – taken by Eliza of Eliza Truit Photography)

So – whether you are from out of town or a local here in Seattle – Pikes Place is a fun place to spend the day! Angela Shen (owner/mastermind of Savor Seattle) thought so too, so she created a super fabulous tour that lasts about two hours and takes you to a few of the hot spots in our favorite market.
On Sunday morning Brooke & I joined the group for some tasty treats and learned so many fun facts…. here are just a few of the many many photos taken that morning. ~ Enjoy!

We started our tour at Seattle’s Best on 1st & Pike – already off to a fabulous start!! mmmm!

The big group ~ we had people from all over the country with us – so fun! Angela Dewitt commonly referred to as Angela #2 was our guide.

At Market Spice we got to taste some fabulous spices and where to use them. =)

They have the most creative names for their tea!!

Of course we had to visit our famous flying fish boys!! They are so funny and lets us taste some of the greatest smoked fish (from Alaska of course!)

Did you know the Pig’s name is Rachel?? And she really is a piggy bank?? People put money in her all the time! (you’ll have to go on the tour to find out what the money is used for – I was busy taking photos and not paying attention… hee hee)

Following our fearless leader!

If you are ever in the market and see a cute gal with a pink umbrella – there is a good chance her name is Angela and she is leading a Savor Tour. =)

This was put up for all of the Japanese people who were forced out of the market so long ago… sad.

Did you know the eggplant is in the berry family?? (so true!) and that there are girl & boy eggplants?!?!

Pictured left is Mr. Eggplant and on the right is his lovely bride Mrs. Eggplant. =)

Mmmmm…. tasty treats!! Shots of uber delicious Colombian chocolate from The Confectional mmmmm… (my mouth is watering)

looks like more treats for us – this time cheesecake from the Confectional smothered with cherries from our favorite place – Chukar Cherries.

A long long time ago (thats my language for I wasn’t listening again and you’ll have to go on the tour to find out) the market floor was made of wood – then to raise money to pay for a new floor you could buy a square for $35 and put anything you wanted on it… some people were creative and some people put their names. =)

This was us eating some life altering cheese – at Beecher’s – YUM!!

This Russian owned Piroshky’s has not only fabulous food but a really sweet story about their opening!!

We learned the TRUTH about the original Starbucks location. =)

And of course we ended the morning with a sweet glass of chardonay at the Tasting Room. Delicious!

We finished up around noon and had the rest of this sunny sunny day to spend at the market. =) Brooke and I spent another two hours going back to all of the places we had just visited to buy full sized portions of all the food we had sampled because it was too good to pass up. (The Mac & Cheese from Beechers really is the best in the world!!)
Being on the Savor tour we were able to get 10-15% off all of our purchases – so cool!
Check out Angela’s website – HERE
She also gives a discount for wedding parties! So for all of you planning a Seattle wedding and have guests coming in from far far away – this would be a great adventure for them!
I’m sure you will enjoy it as much as we did. =)
I love my job oh, I don’t know…. about 9 of the 10 days in the week (yes, there are that many days in a week when you work as much as I do). Well anyway – last week, Sabrina with LT Creative called me up and said they had a last minute job and hoped I could help them out. Of course – I love fun projects and with this one I got to go up on a float plane!!
So, On Friday December 21st (the shortest day of the year) I met Mirel down at Seattle Seaplanes on Lake Union and we took off about 11am for a short flight around the city. It was SO fun, I haven’t been on a small plane since high school…. and I was quickly reminded after takeoff that I get ehem… motion sick very easily eek!! Apparently with a camera pressed against your face, you can’t really see what is going on & that speeds up the whole fun process. =)
There are so many fun photos posted online – here are a few for you to enjoy, but if you want to see all 200 of them, go to my website and login:

Love Seattle!!

You can even see my new house!! FUN!

Thank you SO much to everyone who was able to make it to the opening in Madison Park on Tuesday – it was a huge success!! So many friends!!
Heather Scearce of Conscious Body Pilates was so gracious as to host the party – Kate Thomson of Seasonal Palate was the PERFECT person to cater the event!!
We even had a fun little drawing (because i love drawings!!) Kiley Gustafson was the winner! He gets to choose any one of the images from the show! Kiley and his beautiful bride Voshte just celebrated their One Year Anniversary!! Congratulations!!
For all of you who weren’t able to make it, not to worry…. here are all of the photos displayed. =)
Enjoy!!

Some thought of it as an eye sore, others a landmark… I just thought it was a great way to let people know they were on the right road to my house! I’ve heard rumors of murders in the motel, ideas of remodeling – all sorts of things, but never saw anything different until a couple of weeks ago. When on my way home late one night there were hundreds of people filling the building – crazy dressed people in the streets (very out of the ordinary for this neighborhood) and loud loud music filling the air. Later I found out the students at the Art Institute of Seattle (my alma mater) put on an art show each room a different theme & many different artists then threw a huge party. The place was decorated inside & out!
Tonia, Kaia & I went for a walk one sunny afternoon & decided to take some photos of the crazily decorated building – good timing too. The very next week (or maybe it was two or three… time flies and I’m bad at timely blogging) it was GONE! Yup – a demolition crew was there breaking the boards apart. Who knows what will be there next. Hopefully some cool space for artists – or another fun little hotel (less scary would be nice.)
Anyways – I’ll let the photos tell the story instead of me…. enjoy!

(freestyle walking with our ipods)

my little mini-me (hee hee) aka photog in training!!

I just found this link that tells the whole story – http://seattlepi.nwsource.com/visualart/331719_artmotels15.html

Oh – did i mention the firemen showed up to kick in the door while we were there – the pipes were busted and the place was flooding!

then we walked down to the fabulous Troll and jumped around

a little portrait shoot on the waterfront…. too fun!
