Chosen Charity: Brides Against Breast Cancer & The Making Memories Foundation

The fight for the cure is an important one, but we also have to remember for some – the cure won’t come soon enough.  It is sad, but true and we have to help them celebrate life!!  By granting a wish we can send a family on vacation for one last time – create some lasting and amazing memories together.  In 2008 we raised $30,000 and were able to grant these wishes:

*  Susan and her family of 8 were able to have one last family vacation in Hawaii

* Heather and her family of 6 were able to see Mickey Mouse at Disney World

* Sharon’s wish was for her family of 4 to go to Hawaii

* Together with Brides Against Breast Cancer and The Making Memories Foundation, we granted Lisa’s last wish of having her dream wedding in Port Orchard

* We sent Susan and her son to Key West for one final good-bye.

Our goal in 2009 is to raise $50,000 and with your help we can reach it!!!

Good morning Wednesday!!  Hello BNI Business Spotlight Day!!  Today’s featured member is Patty Betz with Brand Management & is representing Caliber Cleaning Inc. She is one of our newer (newish – its been a few months now) members and we adore her!!  We had our first one to one a couple of weeks back and I had no idea – Patty is SOOO cool!  Of course, I should have assumed since she is part of the Madison Marketeers! =)  She has so many great stories to share, I can’t wait for the next time we get to hang out!

We met in the front area of Starbucks, (madison park) and when we whipped out the camera you wouldn’t believe how many people came up to us asking if Patty was famous and of course we told the truth… she is!  Here is the shot we snapped that afternoon:

Who are you? Patricia Betz
What do you do & Where? A Marketing Professional & Brand Manager

How can we reach you?:

(for Brand Management)  pebetz99@aol.com   425.225.5884

In Patrica’s Words:

1)    How long have you been in your business? How about BNI? I’ve been a marketing professional, specifically a brand manager, for major companies for over 15 years.  I’ve been working with BNI since the beginning of 2009. One of my current clients, Caliber Cleaning Inc., is a long-time BNI member and I am helping them grow their business in new directions.

2)    What made you choose to join the Madison Marketeers? (over other groups) Madison Marketeers has helped my client reach out to a more targeted group of potential customers.  And the Madison marketeers are a very vibrant and talented group of business people– a pleasure to work with in growing businesses.

3)    Is there anything you specialize in with your business? My passion is brands– helping  companies develop new products and launching them into the marketplace to meet consumer needs.

4)    What sets you apart from your competitors? What sets me apart as a marketing consultant is I listen well to my clients and work hard to meet their business needs.  I am very creative and flexible in my approach–thinking outside the box is one way to express what I do for clients. In addition to small businesses, I’ve gained experience working this way for such industry leaders as Procter & Gamble, Hershey Foods, Shell and Green Mountain Energy.

5)    What are your goals? My goals include continuing to assist Caliber — truly a dream client– in the BNI process.  I would also like to continue to build my consulting practice and help others grow their businesses.

6)    Where can people find you or read about you? People can learn more about ‘Patti Betz’ and my work at:   www.linkedin.com/in/patriciabetz

7)    Any Hobbies?? I love travel and the outdoors and find the Pacific NW ideal for those pursuits.  I’m married to an amateur golfer, my wonderful husband Dave, and have two boys– Bryan (12) and Parker (8). I’m an avid volunteer and currently involved in efforts to improve public education in our state to give all students a world-class education.

8)     What is one interesting fact about you? One interesting fact– I won the 2001 Telly Gold award as Executive Producer for the best :30 television commercial never aired!  Tellys are like the Golden Globes for advertising.

So, now that you know so much more about Patty, her passion of branding and of course her clients Caliber Cleaning Inc., (the BEST house cleaning company in Seattle) you can give her a call, or give her info to friends & family.  I hope you’ve enjoyed this BNI Business Spotlight, here is her info one more time:

This site & the guys behind it are fabulous – they have been featured on – MSNBC, Fox News, NBC News, Entrepreneur.com, AskMen.Com, TheKnot.com, Brides.com

Here is the story of how TMR was brought to life -

Three brothers started TheManRegistry.com in 2007 when they noticed that many of their close friends and family were getting married, but too often were registered for wedding gifts that were strictly geared toward the kitchen and bedroom. Where were the wedding gifts that the groom could get excited about? It was clear that creating a wedding registry tailored to grooms was necessary. Thus, TheManRegistry.com was conceived and built as the place where grooms and brides could register for wedding gifts they could put to use in the backyard, garage, or basement bar.

So don’t forget – weddings are a guy thing too!   Check out the site & don’t forget to tell your friends!   www.themanregistry.com

Baby Michael David Stokes was born to Vera & Mickey 2:05am on March 8th, at Swedish in Ballard – (and named after my favorite Dad, Michael David Hull!)

The first few photos in the collage are of us just minutes after the birth and the rest are the next day.

After six super short days, we had our first “real” photo shoot – baby Michael is SO cute!

His favorite activities include sleeping, eating, wiggling, listening to music with Dad and of course playing dress up with THE best big sisters EVER!!

So – whether you are from out of town or a local here in SeattlePikes Place is a fun place to spend the day! Angela Shen (owner/mastermind of Savor Seattle) thought so too, so she created a super fabulous tour that lasts about two hours and takes you to a few of the hot spots in our favorite market.

On Sunday morning Brooke & I joined the group for some tasty treats and learned so many fun facts…. here are just a few of the many many photos taken that morning. ~ Enjoy!0010hull021708.jpg

We started our tour at Seattle’s Best on 1st & Pike – already off to a fabulous start!! mmmm!

0034hull021708.jpg0041hull021708.jpg

The big group ~ we had people from all over the country with us – so fun! Angela Dewitt commonly referred to as Angela #2 was our guide.

0186hull021708.jpgDid you know the Pig’s name is Rachel?? And she really is a piggy bank?? People put money in her all the time! (you’ll have to go on the tour to find out what the money is used for – I was busy taking photos and not paying attention… hee hee)

Following our fearless leader!

0193hull021708.jpg

If you are ever in the market and see a cute gal with a pink umbrella – there is a good chance her name is Angela and she is leading a Savor Tour. =)

0207hull021708.jpg

This was put up for all of the Japanese people who were forced out of the market so long ago… sad.

0228hull021708.jpg

0324hull021708.jpg

A long long time ago (thats my language for I wasn’t listening again and you’ll have to go on the tour to find out) the market floor was made of wood – then to raise money to pay for a new floor you could buy a square for $35 and put anything you wanted on it… some people were creative and some people put their names. =)

0344hull021708.jpg

This was us eating some life altering cheese – at Beecher’s – YUM!!

0358hull021708.jpg

0372hull021708.jpg

0431hull021708.jpg

0445hull021708.jpg

0458hull021708.jpg

We finished up around noon and had the rest of this sunny sunny day to spend at the market. =) Brooke and I spent another two hours going back to all of the places we had just visited to buy full sized portions of all the food we had sampled because it was too good to pass up. (The Mac & Cheese from Beechers really is the best in the world!!)

Being on the Savor tour we were able to get 10-15% off all of our purchases – so cool!

Check out Angela’s website – HERE

She also gives a discount for wedding parties! So for all of you planning a Seattle wedding and have guests coming in from far far away – this would be a great adventure for them!

I’m sure you will enjoy it as much as we did. =)
